The
Upper Willamette Region is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise!
We
are surrounded by National Forest...and are at the South Gateway
to the Aufderheide National Scenic Byway, which is a paved 60 mile
stretch of Forest Service Road that takes you from Highway 126 (the
McKenzie Highway) to the north, south to Westfir. This road follows
both the South Fork of the McKenzie and the North Fork of the Willamette
rivers. From this road there is access to the Waldo Lake Wilderness
areas, including many hiking/backpacking opportunities as well as
horseback riding trails, and alpine lakes.
